TEXAS
We got married in 2013 and quickly became a parents after that. We do contract work, so there was little security in that and being a new parents and newly married is super stressful. We had all of these dreams that society, friends and family made us feel (even if unintentionally) were going to be very hard if not impossible. Let me tell you though, where there is a will, there is a way.
We began a crazy idea to travel the 48 states with our toddler for three months via car. We are couchsurfing and camping along the way. So far, it has been four days. FOUR. I am having start-of-crazy-roadtrip-jitters that make me want to turn back and go home. Our plan is far from solid, but we are doing it and we are trusting that it is going to work out. Everything happens for a reason. I can't wait to learn so many new things about others, the world around me and myself on this adventure!

THE DAKOTAS
|
During our three month roadtrip across the 48 contiguous United States, we spent three nights in the car on our way from Washington state to Iowa. Along the way, we saw the Fort Union Trading Post-the longest lasting fur trading post in the West, Lewis and Clark's museum, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Mount Rushmore and The Badlands of North and South Dakota. The landscape was unlike anything else in the US, with jagged, colorful rock formations you could climb up and look out over fields of squeaking prairie dogs and roaming buffalo.
